Feathers
About
Wild bird feathers have been collected at the ringing station “Bocca di Caset”, Trentino-Alto Adige, in October 2021 and 2022. The quills have been analysed by real time PCR in order to detect the presence of West Nile and Usutu viruses. Feathers of positive samples have been used for stable isotope analysis for tracking movements and understand the natal origins of migratory birds, in order to estimate the viral infection area
